£225.99? That seems awfully cheap. Can you post a link? Pretty sure they'll be fakes for that price, unless they're used.

Edit: Just found them. http://www.golfretailoutlet.co.uk/ And they're known for selling fakes. The 915 driver is £186. They're definitely selling fakes. Avoid at all costs.

Thanks, alarm bells were going off at that price!

Really pisses me off that companies like this are still online and able to trade when they're clearly selling fakes. God knows how many people have been scammed by them and received bad fakes. If it seems too good to be true, it normally is.

On the other hand I suppose a fool and their money are easily parted. All these sites use the same web site template. It's basic net sense to never buy from a company site that has a gmail email and the address is London UK. I think it's not so much that they are preying on golfers, but more preying on the stupid. Also the fact that they are referring to the Chinese New Year holiday on the front page and that they state all clubs are from China, may be a clue. But they will give you a free hat.

But on the other hand I suppose at least they are not really trying to hide the fact that they are fakes. Which is arguable morally better than going out of your way to hide the fact that you are selling a fake club and charging the full price for it.

If they can't even spell "because" correctly at the top of the home page, it might say something about the quality of the goods they sell.

Actually they are being relatively up front about it as they have this note in the bottom right hand corner indicating that the clubs are OEM China as they call them:-

Golf Clubs Shop UK "All clubs are OEM products from China and the qualtiy is guranteed. We are aiming to offer the best products at the best price."

Sites like Clubhouse Golf and Direct Golf tend to have "authorised dealer" logos, again, they haven't put up any fake logo's like that. Personally I don't think you can beat Clubhouse for price and service if you have to go down the online route.

I enjoyed reading the main features of their Katana Sniper Irons:

Main Features:
>>The goodness of Utility Iron is evolved to fly from the Katana Iron
>>Second place and the fastest flying all over, head in the direction also establishs a hollow structure.
>>Wairudosoru also change the face surface to remove the evil at the core line and the impact
>>Make golfers a fun low-weight structure twin deep center of gravity

My favourite is the manufactures ability to remove the 'evil'

I think TM & Cally are missing a marketing trick here!

I'm not sure I agree.

There are a lot of newbies to the game who just wouldn't know that the price is just wrong for the product and aren't savvy on the Internet. People still get caught by the Nigerian scam letters as well as many other internet based scams out there. It's all quite sophisticated these days and I wish that more could be done to eradicate these parasites!

I'm pleased that the OP realised that the site could be dodgy and asked for the forums opinion but I do feel sorry for people who get caught by these scammers

I'm not saying what this site is doing is morally right, and no one would lose any sleep if they were not there. But at the end of the day what can you do if people still fall for the Nigerian scam? They are preying on peoples greed and stupidity. So don't be greedy or stupid.

I know some of these are very sophisticated and nasty, but this is hardly that. And in a way if someone is going to buy from a web site with spelling mistakes all over it, bad English, no physical address and a gmail email address then they may as well get the fact that they are going to be conned and learn a lesson out of the way as soon as possible. Before they are stupid and greedy enough to buy something more expensive.

I read about alot of people on here buying clubs from Ebay, surely there is a significant risk of buying fake clubs from Ebay. It seems an ideal forum to move on fake clubs and quite difficult for a buyer to establish the authenticity of equipment either before or after purchase.

i was about to start a thread in 'ask the experts' about the best way to remove evil at the core line, it's something I've noticed has crept in over the last few rounds, particularly particularly with my long irons.

i might email support at game golf asking if they have any developments in the pipeline to measure it, so I can tailor my practice regime to eradicate it.

nasty core-line evil...........

Again it is up to the buyer to be very careful. Look where the buyer is based, look at their feedback and selling history, ask for serial numbers and even proof of purchase if you want it, do not believe for a second the phrase 'I won it in a competition' or 'I got 2 pairs for Christmas', trust specialised golf shops with sound feedback. But I totally agree that it is easier to sell fake stuff on ebay and there was a frightening stat that I can't quite remember about the amount of golf stuff sold on ebay that is actually fake.

Any old Iron, any old Iron??? Some Irons are really only fit for the scrap metal dealers.

If buying online check reviews and feedback. If they are all glowing be careful, imo!

Before I bought my first set of clubs I was advised (instructed?) to get them from the local pro shop. Got great service and they've looked after me well. Very helpful in the last few days after all my gear got lifted from the garage too. After-sales service is worth paying for. Am avoiding t'internet!
