Hi all

we have just a load of new gear arrive in the office and have uploaded some new image galleries of them

two new drivers from Mizuno - in particular the new 'players' driver looks really good
Titleist fairway
Cobra driver
radical Benross putter that stands up on its own!
3 new Nike putters that are green (including shaft!)

that benross putter is mental

Imagine the time its going to take to play a round with someone using one - lining up putts then leaving them and going behind to check they're OK

and what happens if you're putting on a green with dead elephants under it - will it stay up on a slope?

Hi madandra

the boys at Mizuno tell me the MX is £219RRP (expect to pay a little under £200) and the MP 600 is £269 (expect to pay about £240)

It looks like Mizuno have designed a classic looking head - something of a rarity these days - i will be interested to see one in the flesh.

We have just tested the new Mizuno drivers and they were both impressive.

The MP600 looked fanastic and the moveable weights were really easy to change. The MX560 was very forgiving and sounded completely different to the MP.

Club testing by GM readers

Hi everyone

at present we're a bit tied to the south east for our club tests as we're based in London although if we have had the opportunity to take them on the road - usually only practical for putters or wedges - then we have.

For the max your game custom fit feature we put a piece in the magazine last year asking for those interested in becoming club testers to get in touch with GM gear guru Jezz Ellwood and we have selected readers from that database this year. Out of interest we got around 600 responses for that!

However next year we're planning some big changes to our club testing based around setting up a reader panel to be involved in long term tests on gear. This will mean more readers can be involved as it involve them having to travel to specific locations for a test or custom fit on a particular date as they have had to do up to now

When we have finalised the structure on this we'll put something up here on the website plus in the mag asking for those interested to get in touch

cheers
