New driver ... No willpower ...

Well I wasn't intending on changing driver, no real reason to as I was custom fit for the shaft, but ....

Pro shop changed hands recently and the new guy is selling off the old stock before getting the new stock in, and so he had a brand new TM Superfast 2.0 TP with the same Matrix shaft I currently have. I would of felt rude to walk out without it, after all it was only £130 and I had £125 of prize vouchers to spend :thup:

Was selling the hybrids for £70 too .... Just not enough vouchers for those

Sell the old driver, put the gold coins towards the matching hybrid, you know it makes sense!

I agree. Nothing wrong with splashing out and treating yourself especially as you've played well and earned the vouchers. Can he not put a hybrid on hold for you?

I would have swiped one to, the old burner is firing on all cylinders off the tee which is making me wonder if a new big dog would get decent gains

I went from Burner '07 to the Superfast TP with the HD6 and whilst I didn't gain much in terms of carry I gained a lot from roll (new low spin shaft stopped the ballooning I got from the old Burner)

I had a poor swing today so not much to be read into my driving game today but on the few holes I middled it I noticed some distance improvements, and with no wind today I was surprised to see any difference in distance. Will be back out before the end of the week so will hopefully get some more confidence with it.

The reason I mention 'Confidence' is that sitting a new driver behind the ball is always a daunting task on the first .... picked the club today up and went straight to the first which was not the best idea

Will deffo be going to have another look at the hybrids this week

Its currently with my doubles partner, so will wait to see whether he takes the plunge (he's using an old Cleveland launcher).
