I'd welcome some opinion on my latest golfing dilemma...
I use Callaway X16 Pro-Series irons and have a gentle draw as my standard flight which I am generally happy with. However, I have an inconsistant flight when I pull out the driver (R7 Draw with regular flex).
I'm thinking of getting a new driver and wondered what people thought of the idea of getting a stiff shafted driver, the idea being to bring my driving swing more into line with that of my irons.
Any thoughts much appreciated?

Why not go and try a few stiff shafted drivers on a launch monitor.

Personally speaking, I can hit my irons almost perfectly all day and hit terrible drives. It's not the club, it's the player. :)

Your Callys probably have a uniflex shaft which is between regular and stiff and if you get a gentle draw you probably release the club well enough. The standard TM shaft is pretty soft so I think looking at a stiff shaft is probably a good idea. Not all stiff shafts are the same so getting fitted by a pro (rather than AG) is a good idea. TM has a national fitting centre in Basingstoke if you want to stick with them.
