This is one of the ones I'd played before. My folks are from that neck of the woods so this is one of the places I learned to play the game.

First two holes are straight up the hill - a real struggle - but flat enough once you're up there. Short course, small greens, whins everywhere, some great views; not for everyone but I like it.

My lass was brought up in New Galloway......she has family in the Dalbeattie area of D & G so the 4/5 times we are up in the area tend to play my pals course at Colvend,sometimes Dalbeatties own course.

What you describe FD wouldnt put me off playing it at all prefer shorter courses anyway being a short hitter.

Such a lovely area by the way.....if only could get the weather!..lol
