Moved to a very nice new club, far better quality, decent greens, neat fairways good challenge

I have noticed that my game needs to change compared to the old course

Old club tatty greens and mostly rough near to the greens meant lofted chips or pitches on to the green

New club as it should be nice greens, nice fairways leading to green, chip & run now the better shot

Bunkers have better sand in them, i can again use my SW instead of LW

Have you changed courses and found a change in your game has resulted ?

When Ascot moved from inside the racecourse to the new purpose built course it was a real change. Gones was a quirky but short course and suddenly you had to drive it well, put it in the right place and avoid the rough. Handicaps went up for a lot of players but their overall games improved over time

That was one of the benefits of 'Nomadic' golf. Different courses required/rewarded different approaches so, with a bit of thought. I believe I became a better player. And going from parkland to links and back again certainly made me more aware of certain shots - even if I didn't/couldn't use them!

Theres a lot of guys at our place who (very effectively) play bump and runs and chip and runs all the time and often from a long way out.

Theres only one green which you could say was guarded by a bunker and I often wonder how they'd get on at other tracks
