New car!

I have no idea what you're on about :(

Yea, the black thing is a bit of a tricky one, but buying a used car, you can't be picky. Especially at the price we're paying.

But it also means that although it's a nightmare to keep clean, it will be easier to re-spray/touch up when HIS inevitably drives into something! :D

Dont count on the touchups being easy. Panther Black is a nightmare, i have a Mondeo Titanium in Panther Black and you can even tell the difference in colour from the bumpers, and it comes out the factory like that as they are sprayed at different places/time.

Congratulations on the new car though, Mondeo's are great for the boot size :)

Cheers for that Debbie Downer! :( :D

I'm sure it'll be fine. I've had a black car before, this was before all these hand car washes started popping up all over the place. I'll just have to get it cleaned more often.

Having done alot of motorway driving over the past few days and seen every colour imaginable, It looks effin' badazz in black. Only a few colours which I'd have as an alternate. and the other option we had, Hypnotic Silver, (which didn't have the 18" alloys and sports suspension) looks gopping, so I'm glad we ended up with black.

I assume we will be getting a daily update until it arrives, like when you bought your Mizzies ? :D :D :D

Our two cars are 17 and 13 years old, so not really up to date with new cars :( Sounds good though, and being black you will have a nice cleaning job every weekend. ;)

My daughter is buying her first car, and we are off to see a 2005 VW Polo in black tomorrow. Looks a decent little car, and the good news is she is buying it with her own money. :(

Sorry to hear that mate :( Nice of you to front the money though. Maybe you're not a total knob after all :D

At least it's "daughter" and not "son"...That should save you a few bob!

Those polo's are great for 1st cars. I had a yellow Fiat Seicento for mine! It was both embarrassing and awesome at the same time :D

Driving a big car now, I'll never know how I ever thought I was safe in that thing!

4 days to go!

Haha your forum cred has just been blown out the forum Aztecs,
There's things in life you never admit too and that above is one of them :D :D :D

Don't knock it until you've driven one! Awesome cars. Plus it had the best sound system in the East Midlands in it.

But you're right, it was totally gay :(

These days the Girls can end up paying almost as much as the Boys... Not that YoungMsT would go Girl-Racing around Hampshire....

Had a 53 plate Polo as my first teaching car - really decent to drive, nice and solid too. Have a look under the dash on the passenger side Rich, sometimes you can see where dual-controls have been fitted - if they have, leave it alone. The clutch will be not long for this world and the gearbox not far behind it.
Also goes for anyone buying a Focus, Fiesta, Corsa or Fiat 500. The AA and BSM get through 2-3000 cars a year - each!! AS the instructor doesn't have them for long - 6 months or so - they don't tend to look after them much.....

I'd rather bus it than drive a fiat mate :D

I had black saxo with a pioneer stereo in. Dogs b******s it was.

Thanks for the tip off Ian, hadn't thought of that.

I inherited it, unfortunately. I would never drive another Fiat. Well...never say never...I never thought I'd buy a ford!

And everyone knows that Saxo drivers can be held in the same high esteem that BMW and Audi drivers are! :D ;)
Good motor for first car, ye going for the 1.2 3cylinder ? all 3 cylinder cars are bit noisy when accelerating , dont give many probs, rear bushings on front wishbones wear , not expensive to buy or get done tho, ignition coils were a problem , causes misfire makes car run like a tractor , again not expensive , one slight warning tho is compression , which means replacing the cylinder head , if your buying private beware, if your going to garage/ dealer you should be getting a warranty & be ok ..

It's a 1.4 Twist and is a private sale. Mileage seems good at 44,000, two previous owners, last one for 4 years, and has full service history. Only initial concern was it had squeeky brakes.
Super motor , only thing was the bushings & as i said they are cheap to buy & do, not even realy a problem but the (nct here) MOT over there picks up on slight movement squeaky brakes is more than likely down to brake dust, prob caused from lack of driving , should go out of it with driving , you get a grating noise if its the pads , (should be ok at that milage).. never any probs with the 1.4 here anyhow , nice one , good luck with it.
