Played today (Finally) and used a Dunlop Quadra ball that I'd previously found. Our first hole is a par 4 dog leg left and i usually use a 3 iron off the tee and just about reach the corner. Today it went right into the corner of the dog leg which is approx 40 yards further. Thought it was a fluke but it was definitely longer all around the course and had such a great feel to it. I always thought Dunlops were just cheap balls from Sports direct as their clubs always seem so naff but was pleasantly suprised. Going to get myself some soon. :D

Are these the Dunlop QuadraLink's?

I have 24 to use up this winter having got them for Christmas.

If I don't get on with them this weekend, you're more than welcome to them for cheap!

I'm sure I've read somewhere (may even be GM) that the budget two piece golf balls are ideal in cold damp winter conditions.

The low compression core gives greater distance in the cooler conditions.

They are also less of a financial burden to loose when they plug in the fairway and you can't find it!

Buy Quadra's "they add 40 yards to your game"

or perhaps you caught it sweet for once (no offence but no handicapper hits the ball flush every time)

I use cally warbirds in the winter because u only need extra distance, the greens are normally soft so most balls with spin what every they are . . . And there cheaper :)

@Toby,

I know what you mean. I hit a 3 wood to a wide but shallow green yesterday. In summer it would have been through the back in one bounce and lost forever in the hedgerow. Yesterday is held the green travelling no more than 12 feet from it's first pitch mark!

These soft greens make me look like a good golfer (okay - occasionally!)
