As above, apart from getting round quicker, what would make anyone tee off before the greenskeepers had even finished whipping the greens?
A few good holes but my god the thinking head just wasn't on for the bad ones, to top it off I was exhausted leaving the 18th, I think I'll stick to the usual 11am ish starts in future.

Any regular middle of the nighters here? Justify yourselves!

Dear me, we had a pot of coffee and fryups ordered when we came in and I couldn't even finish it, laying here on the sofa feeling like I am hungover, really bizarre!

Personally I absolutely love it, and I am NOT a morning person I can promise you that!

I think its mainly because, as you say, there is no one in front of you so theres no waiting, which I hate as I am not the most patient ;) ... I also love not seeing any other groups for your entire round, the feeling of not having to worry about anything else while your on the course is magnified.

My favourite times are first off in the morning or last in in the evening, though I would definitely agree that if you havent slept well or something, the early morning games can be a bit of a struggle at first!

You wouldn't like our Midsummer Madness comp then - tee off at 4.30 am then have breakfast afterwards!

they used to be ok at my prev course as they had a summer ball the night before, so didnt go home in between :)

otherwise, anything before 10am as far as a tee time and Im useless

I really like being out early.

Part of it I suppose is driven by having a young daughter so I can whizz round and be home with the day ahead of us to do something with the family.

Oh, and it's always much calmer in the morning here so you can play in the peace and quiet with really calm conditions.

Best part of the day and the ONLY time to tee off.

You are obviously badly unfit Brendy, sounds like your body isn't used to activity early doors, have you never slipped her a length early doors or is it over that fast it doesn't register with the body clock....?

love playing at that time before all the weekend piss heads come at between 10-11 round quicker as well couple of pints and a roll and home keeps hid ofmy case.

Too early for me I usually tee off at 9 to half past. I don't like waiting around all day to play golf I don't seem to play very well when I do.

I'm no mr universe, normally I come off the course ready for more Alan, I had about 3 hours sleep for no other reason than I couldn't sleep, finally dropped off around 3-3.30ish.
The missus is a bit of a night owl ;) thanks for asking !!

T off 7.46 every saturday and i love that early start, usually finished 11.15 ish, perfect plenty of family time left.

3 1/2 hours and you tee off that early?

Bugger that.

Andy

I like an early round too. Means you can get out and back in before the course gets mobbed, into the clubhouse (not that my club have rebuilt theirs since the fire) for something to eat then you have the full day to yourself. If you're teeing off at say 11am then you dont have time to do much before or after it. During the months with lighter nights i like going out later on for similar reasons. Full day to yourself, quiet course, couple of pints after it.

Greens are at their best being freshly cut amd not spiked.
No slow play.
No wind.
Have the rest of the day to do other things with family, friends etc

That's why the best players at many clubs like to go out very early, getting the bets of the conditions.

I like playing early, depends on your body clock I suppose, I hate hanging about all day to play a comp.

I hate teeing off early too, and if I do, always play crap.

Late morning or PM for me, and strangely - at our Club, most of the Cat1 players do too, they dont entertain early starts.

Yes, I'm another early morninger......I only play on a Sunday and we are usually off by 8 o'clock with nobody in front of us, and we can be finished at about 11. This allows me the rest of the day with the family.

One downside is that the greens aren't whipped by the time we play...........mind you, I dont think I've ever seen our greenkeepers out whipping them.

Teed off at 8 the other week and played crap.
Prefer a 10 ish tee time, finish mid afternoon.
Don't go for this early round, get it out of the way then good part of the day left mullarkey.
I play because I enjoy the game and the best part of Saturday for me is my round of golf.

I could'nt disagree more with you early mob, played today at
1.35 this afternoon, that was after a "nice" warm up on the
practice area for about an hour, got myself loosened up and
ready to play, and had a great round of golf, life is good,as
they say!!

I couldnt play before 12 until today, and I am looking forward to an early tee for the first time next week. Today I started practice at 9am, had a lesson, then practiced again and then played a round, finished at 6.15, thats a marriage wrecker lol
