I played Reay last year. What an absolute treat, especially for £30! We also played Goldspie - o.k. but not over impressed, and Brora - excellent but we still preferred Reay. It’s managed by the members and we were made very welcome!

Please don’t post this info online. The more widely known it becomes, the more likely that membership spots get hoovered up by wealthy tourists and the clubs then ultimately end the privilege. Opportunities to play good courses are few and far between now too.

if you were a country member you didn't used to be eligible for the reciprocals. im still surprised they changed it to allow them. Dornoch was always the sticking point. 15 years ago it was free, but you could only play each course 3 times and Dornoch not June July and Aug.

Interesting. It’s been going up in price in recent times, though still good value through membership.

Currently on the bicycle and passed through Durness today. Picture of the last green attached...
Sadly, logistics meant that I wasn't able to squeeze 9 holes in. That's partly time, and partly not having room on the bike!
If anyone on here cycles a bit, I heartily recommend schlepping round the route. If you wait for a decent weather window, the scenery is breathtaking. And being on a bike is easily the best way to do it (imho, of course)
