Not sure I'd go that far - but I'd happily nick La Marseillaise from the French. Best national anthem in this segment of the world,

There is definitely something stirring about La Marseillaise, but for hairs standing up on the back of your neck time, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau takes some beating, particularly in a stadium full of Welshmen.

Zamorano, Salas and the boys belting out the anthem with tears in their eyes.

I don’t think a few top flight footballers, most of whom lived and worked away from home, would have been shot because they didn’t sing the anthem with enough effort, do you?

They were based in Italy, Spain, the U.K. etc

I can never quite understood why they would want to re- build a eastern European city in England.
Would it not look a bit out of place amongst the green hills.

As someone with not an ounce of Scottish blood, Flower of Scotland ??????? is absolutely freakin awesome. That's what an anthem should be like.

When the bagpipes drop out for the second verse is pretty special.
I don't know of any other anthem used in stadiums that has no musical backing.

I'm a traditionalist, and love pomp and ceremony.
So keep the National Anthem.

However I do concede that the Scottish, Welsh and French anthems are better.
