Would be very grateful if someone could take a look at my swing and give me some feedback please.
I currently play to a 12 handicap but am really struggling at the moment. Just getting a good contact on the ball would be a start! The ball is generally going straight and distance is ok but the sound from the contact tells me that club to ball is not as it should be. Some thin, some fat.
As a point, the two shots played here we slight pulls and contact sounded quite thin.

I've never had any coaching but have studied swings, coaching manuals etc. My main strength would be short irons, for some reason the flop shot has always been a good shot for me. My main weakness is ball contact and my driving is weak, I can drive me 3 wood as far as my driver (240yds)
I play at least once a week and practice usually twice a week for 2 hours each.
I do keep stats and the tell me that i miss a lot of fairways and need to improve my GIR (probably due to missed fairways!)
General shape of shots are as follows:
Driver: pull or pull hook
Fairway woods: Straight or pulled
Rescue Club: Sliced but sometimes drawn
Long/Medium irons: Mainly straight but often pulled
Short irons: Mainly straight but often pulled.

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
I have notice something which would suggest a pull and the poor contact but first, do you have a video of your swing from face on please. This will help me confirm my suspicions

Well, if you look at your set up, you will see your feet point one way and your shoulders point left of that. I suggest thats why you hit it left.

Your lack of good contact I think is caused by a slight sway off the ball on the backswing, making it difficult to get back to the ball consistently.
And lastly, if you are losing distance, you dont have a complete wrist hinge at the top of the backswing as shown by the red lines.
I would raher see the club shaft pointing down the blue line.

Try watching your head in a reflection in a window or your shadow as you swing back and see if it slides away from the starting point
Hope that helps :)

Thankyou very much for those pointers, most helpful. It's amazing what the difference is in what you think you're doing to what you're actually doing. I look forward to working on those points.
Thanks again for your time.

Wow! Just arrived back from my first practice session on the range since you looked and advised on my swing. What a difference!
Squaring my shoulders (although they feel slightly closed cos of the feel I had before) has instantly stopped the pulls and after working on extending the backswing and cocking the wrists enough to set the club parallel to the target line at the top, the connection improved and I added at least 10 yds to each club. Lovely jubbly. Even got the 3 iron out cos it felt so good.

Many thanks for you time again, really appreciated
