Jeez, we moan about the rain down here in Surrey\Hampshire\Berkshire but in all honesty we have got off very lightly. Apart from a couple of patches of casual water and more water in the ponds\ditches than usual, RAGC is coping very well.

Gotta feel for you chaps up North

Dear me,is that Prestonfield?

We have now drained away but it is moist and a far bit of damage had been done so busy getting everything sorted with insurers.Total and utter pain in the rectum and it has pished it down all morning again...heartbreaking stuff.

Aye, it is Dodger.

There's a stream that runs down the right hand side of the fairway and there's an outflow from the sewers because that part of the course is actually part of the Edinburgh flood plain and it's designed as to flood in order to stop water coming back up out of the drains in other parts of the town.

It's never flooded in the 8 years my Dad's been a member and I know people that have been members for 20 years that haven't seen it this bad. Saturday's storm seems to have been a once in a generation event.

Feel really sorry for those courses that have flooded to that extent. Have any tried to see if other local courses that have faired better will give courtesy to the members whilst it is unplayable?

I am lucky, my course has held up very well. We were able to play on Saturday and Sunday with the only concessions being that Winter Rules were re-introduced and all bunkers were classed as GUR due to some being full of water.

If you fancy a game up at Muckhart if it's going to take a while to sort just give me a shout.

Thanks Greig, I'll bear that in mind :)

Not sure, I haven't been around to look at the other courses. Duddingston is the closest course to ours but I don't know if it's been as badly affected.
