A provisional ball will always end up in the rough 150 yards across the fairway from the original ball or in the rough next to the original ball.

To build on this and Homer's earlier one - If trees might stop a ball going OOB then they will be 90% air, if you need a ball to get through a tree on your intended line they will be 90% tree.

A putter you try out will hole putt after putt. Once you buy & pay for it it will let you down constantly.

Always buy on a credit card - time it right and you have 5 weeks of quality before having to actually pay for it.

Can you do a PCP on putters? Could have it working for 3 - 5 years.

I am surprised that nobody has brought out a lease plan for golf clubs so far. It seems such an obvious idea, particularly for drivers which are expensive bits of kit and people like to upgrade regularly.

The day you finally find 20 yards extra on your drive is when you head straight for the bunker which has always been 15 yards beyond your range

That reminds of years ago when the same playing a course every week. It started with a 329 yard hole. I used to try to drive it every week and only managed it once followed by three putts.
