MS Outlook help

Lately more and more often Outlook has been failing in downloading emails (bt email) and I get the pop up asking for my password (which it already has)

This afternoon its just stopped completely, wont pull through emails at all.

When I go into the account settings it fails every time at "Log onto incoming mail server"

My details hadnt changed at all since this am when it did pull emails through. Have subsequently gone online to the mail server (can log in fine) and changed the password, gone back to outlook and tried with new password and still no joy.

Account was set up as POP3, tried it as IMAP too, still no success.


Anyone any recommendations? (yes im looking at you Fragger ;) )

I sometimes get that kind of message and are with BT broadband/email, not very regular but probably once a month.(not that I have ever logged into the mail server to test that like you did).

All I know is that is starts working again and normally is only out of service for an hour or so.

I get similar on yahoo. sometimes it just insists on the password and insists it is wrong, while the same PW works on another device.
