I'm biased, as I have a set, but in my opinion they're lovely. Look great, look great at address (thin top line) and give good feedback when you don't hit it out of the sweet spot.

Nice looking clubs but not the most forgiving IMO.
Had a set when they were released in 2007 and changed them last year for something a bit more forgiving.

My 52's are the same, but this is what I like about them. When I make an off centre strike, boy do I know about it. That helps me not do it again by making me think hard about what I did. If that makes sense...?

I would agree fully with this. Although it's nice to know when you don't hit a decent shot, it can be demoralising sometimes! I wouldn't look past an upgrade, but money is tight right now, so I'm happy for now.

Just a point on this - why do you need the club to tell you when you've hit a bad shot?
Surely the fact that the ball's gone off in completely the wrong direction or simply not far enough is all you need?
And how is it going to help you hit it in the sweetspot next time...?

I see your point, but not wanting the pain thinning a 4 iron causes is often enough motivation to help my hit the next shot right!
In all honesty, I love my clubs, but would trade them in for a set of JPX800 Pros or something similar with a bit more forgiveness in a heartbeat.

If you hit it out the toe you want to know you hit it out the tow so that you can adjust! If you hit it out the tow alot you need to know so that you can work on it.
I would argue my point more but you went from MP58 to your Callaway and shot some crazy scores so I think Ill leave it at that....

Or maybe I wont... I wonder how many GI users there are out there who always hit it out the toe and that is there yardage so that when they hit the sweet spot they air mail greens.

I find with the 53's that i do feel where on the clubhead the mis-hits are, with my previous clubs I didnt. I have a 57 6 iron and its much the same.

I play with the MP57's in my match set and MX200's in my carry set. Yes you have to put a better swing on the ball with the 57's but the dispersion is soooooo much better. Put a bad swing on the MX200's and the hook's and slices are far worse.
Absolutely love my 57's and cant see me changing them for a while.

I don't have another set to compare it to, but I would agree with this. My irons are never wayward. That's not to say they're always on the green, but the vast majority of the time, I'm just left or just right of my target, unless I'm aligned completely wrong
I love playing our Par 3 9th and 12th as on bounce games (from the yellows) I'm hitting a 3 iron from the tee which is my favourite shot in the history of favourite shots. The ball flight is just lovely.

Getting the 57s were a big part of getting me down from 15 to 12 in a short space of time. I moved from cheap SGI irons to these.
I dont hit them massive distances compared to those using modern (TM) cast clubs, up to two clubs difference in some cases. They have "soft" lofts so make sure they fit well with your long clubs and wedges as you could potentially have a distance gap or two clubs too close together.
Big :thup: from me, I love the feel. I paid £200 for an almost new set over a year ago now, clubs above the 6 iron had hardly been used and the only damage was a slight dent in the PW.

I think the previous owner may have found them though.
52's, are nicer though, and tend to be used by classier golfers.

hosel of my MP 53 7 iron looks like a dog chew
... took me a few months to get used to them.... now I just use the toe . I do love them so much though....
