motorcycles

Had bikes on and off since 1959. Three Honda VFR 800's on the trot. Currently got the first injection model the one before they messed about cutting out the spark on one? cylinder. Pristine condition, 20000 miles, sitting in the garage waiting for the nice weather to come.
They are lovely bikes and go like stink. All you who have never been into bikes have no conception what acceleration is until you give the right hand the twist.
Got an SP60 a few years ago, 6 points, £400 so tend to ride like a big girls blouse now. At my age probably a good thing.

Looking forward to summer?

My (new to me) Street Triple R arrived on Thursday afternoon, and I'll be out again this afternoon.

Passed my test in '78, and had the following; Honda CB125, Honda CB400-4 + BSA B40, Moto Guzzi Le Mans, Yam RD250 + Suzi GT380, Kawasaki Z1B, Kawasaki Z650, Honda VFR800(V-tec).

I've never exceeded the speed limit, nor done a risky overtake, nor crashed 6 times in 8 months.

I started riding bikes when I was 17 on a Suzuki TS125 progressing through a Honda 400 Super Dream and a Kawasaki Z400. I had a break for a few years then bought a Yamaha 535 Virago followed by a Ducati 750SS.

I then got into 'off-roading' and bought a KTM250 Exc Racing which I converted to a 350 and used for green-lanes, enduro's and rally's. I also had a Sherco 290 trials bike which was brilliant. Unfortunately a broken and subsequently platted collarbone and an 'off' when I hit a tree stump with my hip at 30mph+ put an end to my 'mid-life' crisis hobby.

But the KTM350 is still sitting in the garage tempting me to take it out and compete in a couple of rally's for old times sake ........................ :D:D

well it seems i have sourced a frame with v5,subframe,swingarm and a few other parts for a kawasaki zx9r b model.

my plan is over time build it back up and get it ready for the road.this to me is about the only option i have for getting another bike as i don't have the available funds to buy a bike just now.the b model is older than the 9r i had and a lot heavier but it will still be plenty fun and be great on the road.

it will be a long and slow process and is down to how much time and money i will have but i'm looking forward to it.

The way the price of my train season ticket is going, I'm becoming more tempted to buy a bike and ride it to London each day. :(

Had a few bikes up to my mid 20's, then took up motox after retiring from rugby and needing a sport that was easier on the body :mmm: raced SX 250's and Rm 250's for a few years until some 'death or glory' last lap heroics (which was nowhere near glory as it turned out), last crosser was an '07 RM 250.

Definitely not got the 2 wheeled bug out of my system yet and toying with the idea of getting a road bike again now.

Another ex-biker here. Got rid of my GS500 a couple of years ago - just wasn't riding it enough to justify it and it was rotting away since I couldn't garage it. I do miss it sometimes though so will maybe get another some day....
