Has anybody else had issue with Motocaddy? Good or Bad experiences?

I had mine for 13 months before the battery expired. I replaced it and it failed again with three months. They replaced that one under warrentee and it went again within 5 months. I have now had to send the whole lot back to them again for further testing.

To be honest I am very tempted to get rid. But I really like the design and its so quiet compared with others. Maybe its quiet because most of the time it doesn't work!!

I have a motocaddy which I find great, however the trolley is now very slow even with a fully charged battery so I am considering buying a new 36 hole battery.

Overall I have been very pleased with mine.

I bought mine in 2006 with the proceeds of Italy winning the world cup so my battery is now 3 years old! How long should a battery last or is 3 years acceptable before losing power???

Okay from someone who works with thousands of batteries, here’s my view. Its possible the trolley itself is okay and that it’s just a battery issue, like cheap batteries or possibly, batteries that are on the limit for the job itself, like a big car with a little engine.

On the other hand, there could be a problem with the trolley itself, in that it’s drawing too much current, like driving a car with the hand brake on.

A good quality battery with the right hour Amperage should last a couple of years easy. There is no way they should go this quick even for a one round battery.

I have had mine 2 years, tehre is over 250 miles on it and I have no real problem - yes the batter is a bit sower but its still ok.

had mine 2 years and apart from it falling apart (now reaired) on BH Monday, it has been trouble free.
The only issue i've had hhas been with the charger, which was replaced with no fuss

If your course is not too long then the 18 will be fine. Remember, If you run your caddy through rough or semi rough, the battery and motor will be working much harder. You're much better going up the edge of the fairway then cut into the area where you think your ball is, rather than run straight through the rough from the off.....if you know what I mean. The easier the motor runs the longer it will last, as will the battery.

Poor quality, cheap batteries are okay for a short while. Better getting the best you can.

How do you know how good the charger is...you dont. But if you can get one that has a boost and trickle then that would be better, but charge on trickle. A charger with no B or T is usually a compromise. If your chargers been doing a good job then I wouldnt bother.

Aye cheers Tommo, I was told when I enquired about a new battery that I should also buy a new charger. I was told by the conman, err I mean salesman "if your battery has gone then the chances are your charger needs replacing too, I would recommend that you change that as well"

"How much is that?" I enquire.

"we can do you one at £19.99 if you buy the battery and charger together, otherwise they are £30."

I have found that if you run your battery down after a round but not completely dead, - lift the wheels of the trolley off the ground - then charge as usual, the next time the trolley is used it is back to normal. How often you need to do this will depend on how often you use the trolley.
