Iv had my motocaddy s3 trolley for just over 2 years now, first battery lasted me just under a year, they replaced it under warranty for me as it had dead cells in it. They tried to claim it was because I had been leaving it lying on a charger all the time. They said I should be charging it as soon as I come off the course and then taking it off the charger as soon as it's charged. To be fair this prices difficult a lot as my battery gets charged at the course. But Iv tried to do this as much as I can. A year down the line and another battery is knackered! Phoned them up but they don't want to know as it's outside it's warranty.
Anybody else had this problem?? How do you charge your trolley battery up??

Ive an S 3 and i leave that on charge the whole time when not in use. The instructions say take it off as soon as its charged, but when i did that it would just gradually lose charge and would't do a whole round.

I charge my motocaddy battery as soon as I get home from a round, then take it off charge. Top it up before a round if its been sitting for more than a week. In winter, I often don't use my trolley, so always make sure the battery is charged overnight at least every four weeks. More than 2 years old and still going strong.

I have 2x 18 hole batteries and I charge them straight after use then leave them in the kitchen. They are both over 4 years old now and still going strong.

1st motocaddy battery I had lasted under a year, replaced under warranty. 2nd one lasted 3.1/2 years and remained on charge all the time however I had what is known as an intelligent battery charger which stops charging automatically when fully charged then trickle charges it gradually.

Now have a powakaddy and so far the battery has been fine, had it around 16 months or so now.

I have a trickle charger for the car that does this, never seen one for a golf trolley though, where did you get it??

I've never had a problem with mine but I put in on charge the night before I play and don't leave it on charge all the time. Started playing again after almost 3 years off a couple of months ago, dug the trolley out expecting it to be dead and it fired up no problem without recharging the battery
