Montys first Senior major

Where has this come from? Who says he thinks it will be any different? Could it maybe just be that he wants to get back out playing and the seniors tour is still competitive whilst not being up against these 300+ yard drivers??
didnt he do a tv interview a couple of weeks ago stating that winning a senior major was still a major on his cv and still ranked along side the big four in importance, but they way he seemed to allude it would be easier was the berate we had.

So a professional golfer who still wants to compete has said he wants to win a major... shock horror.
I'm afraid only you can assume what he said and how he said it alludes to anything.

Ok my opinion on Monty is based on this and has nothing to do with nationality. Before Alistair Maclean bagged for Monty a mate of mine got a permanent loop on the European Tour.My mates player took a week off and he got Montys bag, now this was before Monty hit the big time.my mate explained how Monty spoke to him and it was appauling, thats what its based on for me.Favourite Monty story http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ut-monty-a-caddie-and-pounds-200-1163407.html Even Monty likes Billy!

I kind of was pretty neutral to him as a golfer, take him or leave him, thought he was a bit of a choker in the majors but that's possibly being a bit unfair.

But I think as a commentator he can divide opinion. I think he's struggling to find the line between offering his thoughts and considered opinion as an ex player/Ryder cup captain who has been there, but also not making it all about him and starting most comments with 'when I captained the Ryder cup team.......'. And too often he tends to do too much of the second one for me. but he may well improve with experience.

Of course if he was English I would think he is the second coming....;)

And fifthed...

Great player and seems a decent fella when doing his demo / training sessions.

Some people uphold a media driven opinion on people when they can't form there own. Murray/ Beckham/ Woods/ Monty.

A fantastic player and great ambassador of the European Tour. I personally hope he thrives on the Seniors Tour.

^^^This is my view also. I have absolutely no issues with the guy whatsoever. I get the impression that some folks choose to form impressions of folks to support their like dislike of him or her - though as you can gather I have no idea why you wouldn't think he's an OK guy.

Another Monty fan here. He gets a lot of vitriol and half the time it seems its purely for the sake of it, he has been a superb ambassador for European Golf with his wins, OOM titles and Ryder Cup performances. But it seems easier for people to find a reason to dislike him than to give him the credit where its due.

I just dont like him as a person, maybe if I had never herd him speak I may support or respect him for his golf but he is an idiot.

The amount he talks about himself is ridiculous, some of the things he has said down the years makes me sick. I understand he turned to a camera man one day and screamed "you would not be here if it were not for me". Clearly the direct opposite is the case.

Cant stand the guy!
