Moment of stupidity

Ive played with more absolute terrible male players than women and not only standard i played with a work mate who was practise swinging over my ball as i was trying to tee off.
All the ladies i played with have been mad on their golf, enjoy it and play to a standard short and straight comes to mind, although the girlfriend is like me long and wayward i think she been watching me too much

As previously posted, I have nothing against lady golfers, and enjoy playing with them, the thing is, these are the ones who actually play golf.

There are way too many in the ladies section, who put there name down for these comps 'for a bit of fun', who haven't got a clue, and aren't really bothered trying to win.

I will see who I get, and hopefully it will be one of the triers.

After this rant, I will probably get an ace lady, and be the weakest link myself.

I'm with murph on this one. There are a small contingent of our lady members who are mad keen on their golf and are pretty decent players. It is their names you tend to see every year ont he gold letter boards. Apart from that the ladies section is thriving but the majority are simply not that good and seem to have any interest on progressing (lessons, practice etc). For them its all about ladies morning on a Tuesday with a social round and some tea and cake in the clubhouse afterwards.

That is fine until you get them playing in the mixed team events for a bit of fun. They simply do not have the golfing skills to be a help. Simple as that. Thay are perfectly good company (and a couple are real lookers) and it is fun ambling around the course and in the clubhouse afterwards but when they come to hit a ball it becomes SO frustrating.

I'm sure Barb and AliB will understand what we mean. They are both mad keen on their golf and are tryers. I'd happily play with someone like that week in and week out rather than someone for whom the golf is almost an incidental to a nice walk and chat.

I have now seen the draw, and it isn't too bad. I have drawn the wife of one of my friends, who isn't a bad golfer, and two others from the saturday swindle. It will be much like any other saturday really.
