Saw a thing on the news the other day where some restaurants were on about banning phones. I only half watched the story and at the time thought it was not interesting seeing as it had never bothered or affected me.
Last night we went out for a gorgeous Thai meal in Chesterfield. The couple who we have not been out with before jumped in the car. I am driving, looks in the mirror and he's on his phone within seconds. Got to Chesterfield, I jumped out the car, checked the carpark prices, free, jumped back in the car, dropped it in gear, keys out, me out, locked it walked up the street, Missis T says where's Steve. I had locked him in the car, he had not noticed, I had not noticed, he's on his phone. In a bar, selfies galore. Thai resturaunt, now its lovely inside, decked out like a Thai village, photos galore and upload. Meal arrives' waiter taking photos, conversation he's on his phone then hears a bit of the conversation then he's talking solid for 5 mins then back on the phone. All night it was phone phone phone.
when we got home I had a right moan with Missis T about it?
Can fully understand why some folk now get bogged off with phones and resturaunts now.

I can't understand why some people feel they're so important that they have to tell all their so called "friends" where they are and what they're up to as soon as it happens. I would have no hesitation in telling any of my friends how rude it is to be using a mobile phone when in my company.

Remember back in the days before FaceBook when your friends weren't interested what you had for your tea? Well they're still not interested :D

Just very bad manners !
I would have told him what I thought.

We all did inc his partner. When I locked him in the car I didn't know whether to laugh or what. Odd thing is that one of the reasons that's held me back from doing social media is folk taking a photo of there dinner and posting it online. It is even worse watching someone take 20 photos.

Just because you are on social media doesn't mean you have to take pictures of your tea and post it.

I'm on Facebook but rarely post. I use it to get information, not to bore people rigid by constantly telling them where I am or what I'm eating at that particular moment. It's up to you how you use it.

The only time that I ever used Facebook to tell people that I had checked in somewhere was when visiting the Penis Museum in Iceland. Just seemed a humerous thing to do at the time.

Never ever taken a picture of a meal, it's not usually on the plate long enough.
