Mizuno MP-600 Driver

I've decided to give this a bash as a) I'm not getting on too well with my G10, b) I'm a Mizuno whore! and c) I like the idea of adjusting it to hitting high or low (we have a lot of wind on our course at times) see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NDk-2zOj8c

I got mine for the same price from my pro , they have a huge mark up and should be easy to get from any pro for a good price. In fact I got the f60 3-wood and an mx700 hybrid aswell and cost me £300 all in

up to you but they are not the most forgiving driver. G10 I found much easier to use

That is a great buy mate..

it's good that you get a couple of different shaft options.

Personally I'd go for the 10.5 degree with the stiff Prolaunch Grafalloy Red.

If you don't hit it long and straight now, I'd give the mp600 a miss and go for the mx560 they are going for peanuts and are long high and straight. The MP600 will not correct any flight mistakes and will really show up a slice regardless of the setting. If you are already a good striker go for one but try a few shaft options it makes a huge difference.

Oh the haters are out tonight!
The MP600 is a bona fide driver (with an albeit unemployed swing weight system) which goes very well, looks gorgeous and doesnt need to use acoustics as a selling point.
Personally, I would never write off any company before trying them first when it comes to clubs. M'lud I present MD Golf as the first example. Priced at the mid to low end of the market, I know of a lot of single digit players who swear by them, If you dont try them, how do you know?

It's the first 'big headed' driver i've had and it was a little wierd at first (only cos of the size tho). Now i've had half a season with it i'm finding I can hit it either way with a high or low ball flight. So to me I feel like i've got a good driver and wont be changing it for years. If I hit it bad then it's my fault with my sometimes inconsistent swing but when I hit it right(most of the time) it does what it's supposed to.

Looks good at address imo and I cant think that paying £250-300 for other makes of driver would benefit me in any way whatsoever.

Why did this make me chuckle ?

Coz I'd swap swings with you ( sight unseen ) at the drop of a hat.

Rather the 'inconsistant' swing of a 2 handicapper or the 'consistantly crap' swing that would have me tearing my hair out ( if I had any left to tear, that is. )

You know what they say about a bad workman don't you?

I have an old (by Mizuno's standards) MP-001 9.5* and can nail it more often than not. They arent the most forgiving by any stretch of the imagination, but IF you have a decent swing you can learn to hit Mizuno drivers very easily.....just as I have.

Or would you rather the club did it all for you whilst you stood back & watched?

Mizuno gear is designed for the better player.

Those that can use Mizuno do, those that cant say its rubbish.

Best thing about the MP-600 it dosnt have that stupid ting sound when you hit a ball with it like most others.

I've had one for the last eighteen mnonths. I must admit as my game is a bit off at the moment I have struggled with it. However, when I'm playing well it is really effective. Certainly better than the TM R7 425 that it replaced..

As for Mizuno making poor drivers, I think that was the case some time ago, but as KeefG has said the MP001 seemed to be the start of a serious effort to get into the dirver market.

Why is it that people can't accept that if you have a club from a medium to high end brand then it is not going to be a "bad" club. The only thing bad about it is the fact you can't use it. I can't use Tiger's TW blades - does that make them a bad club?
