Mixed feelings about new golf ball

I recently changed from Srixon Trispeed to Srixon Distance ball to try and minimise driver spin.

While my driving andc long irons have become much more consistent, putting has become nigh on impossible.

It's usually one of the most reliable parts of my games but because of how firm the Distance balls are I have no feel and speed is so hard to judge because of the lack of feedback from the ball.

Before my round today I spent around half an hour on putting green and it was getting there but it ruined what would have been a decent round.

I am thinking of going for something middle of the road like Srixon AD333 but I wanted to seek your opinions first...

I'd have said the Tri-speed is a middle of the road ball. I don't think your driver spin rates would drop that much going from a tri-speed to a distance.
Tri-speed is a good all-round ball.

Tri-speed is a good all-round ball.

That's one of the reasons why I first tried the Trispeed but after giving them a try, I love the Distance.

How about something like Titleist NXT?

NXT tour or AD333 are pretty good and my winter balls of choice. I'd throw in the TM Burner TP as another option. 3 piece but pretty cheap and maybe a touch more forgiving on and around the greens

rich. In all honesty, if you are used to Trispeeds or something like that, even the AD333s are going to seem like they are coated in an explosive material.

I use NXT tours, W/S Dx2 and 3s, the odd Nike Ball (vapor) and the occasional Z-star.

I wasted £15 on a box of AD333s and still couldn't putt with them even as the last one found it's way into a lake or my practise bag. WAY too hard for a good putter i.m.o.

I've said it before, so I'll say it again. The AD333 is a great ball, but once you're stuck on them and are used to putting with them, you'll struggle to go back to a proper "spin" ball.

Why are you getting the driver spin in the first place? Isnt that more important than the ball? I think the key is sorting out your swing and playing with the ball you like best on the green....where you play most shots and get your score down.
