Reading the exploits of the Scottish contingent makes me wonder if there would be any interest in a get together in the Midlands?

Cost and location permitting, I would be interested. Am only down the road in Rutland so only about an hour from Nottingham.

If you take that as a fairly central location, it is not too far from Leeds etc so maybe our Northern bretheren could get involved as well.

This is off-topic, but I thought Rutland ceased to exist years ago.

It did then came back. Was merged with Leicestershire but after a protracted campaign for independence it was re-introduced in 1992.

Yes......we should try for Sutton Coldfield or Beau Desert or Little Aston (3 prices/levels).

Could we not meet at Rutland? (Water or County)....GB would know. Anything Kettering/Rugby way???

Rutland Water would be possible or there is Greetham Valley. Rutland County is a bit flat and bland. This is where I play now:

Not sure what is out near Kettering but Wellingborough is meant to be pretty good and is in that sort of area.

I looked up stokerochford. 125 miles 3 hrs!! for me.

What about Notts? One of the clubs that has different green fees depending on the month. £45 before the summer season.

Wellingborough looks good too. Says you have to have 10 for a "society", this wouldn't stop us doing two 4 balls?

Why don't you cluster people around a 50 mile radius. Keep it local and get to know a few members at least.

I would be looking at a week day get together. Would everyone be able to do this? How much notice would you need? Is early april to soon? I am not a member anywhere, would it be advantagious to play at a course where somebody is a member (for financial reasons)?
