Mid Am Golf

How many have taken up the one event in Scotland so far?

I see it's cheaper if you 'join' midamgolf, but as theres only 1 event in Scotland that isnt economical

which is not in Scotland..........don't understand your point?

But it's just across the border so not far to travel for some. The fact that there is only ONE Mid Amateur event in Scotland and that is ours is one of the reasons for holding the event to see if there is a desire from the players to play in such events and looking at the entries it would appear that there is.

We may look at more events for 2013 in Scotland as having spoken to may people about it, as mentioned before, unless you are off scratch or better there is little or nothing of note to play in.

Hopefully it will be well received and we can do some more.

i know this is an old post, but where did you get the idea there is little to play in Scotland?
Where i live there is pretty much an Open comp almost every weekend during the season, with some clubs having 3 or 4 though out the season, which are for handicap golfers. Of course there are plenty of scratch events, but there are plenty of open comps both senior and others. there are even some a top courses, such as Royal Aberdeen and Carnoustie elsewhere in scotland.
