Just my opinion, of course, but I really feel this section on the Forum pages in the magazine has run its course. Needs something different to freshen it up. A 'What's in the bag and why' for example. Almost everyone on here has a section in their sig with a rundown of their bats, so why not take that and expand on it.

Just a thought.

Del do you mean do away with it all together or revamp the questions?

I like the what's in the bag idea. TM are running it on their FB page for their pros so would be great for the forum pages as a comparison. Dream club list with it would be good.

I would like to see it revamped rather than scrapped. Maybe talk to a few of the manufacturers for a prize for those that have taken part athe end of the year.

Revamp the questions, Tiger. Have two forumites per month telling us what clubs they use and why they chose those particular clubs over others, for example.

Interesting as when I took over Jezz mentioned looking at Meet the Forum. So over to you, we do live in a democracy after all. How would you like to see Meet The Forum revamped? Amanda if you could respond as per current questions I'll have two people for September Cover date. I'll then compile suggestions on here and catch up with Jezz for October

Sounds good - I never liked the dream fourball question. Not that I'm volunteering of course!

I would go for favorite golf course rather than hole as it gives more scope for variety of answers. I would be worried that you can only give a 'because I hit it ok' answer to favourite club - how about why do you play golf rather than other sports ?

Thanks Scadge. The reason for favourite hole is because we currently have three favourite courses so this would allow some space for description and narrow the focus. It's possible that your favourite hole wouldnt necessarily be in your favourite course. But im open to suggestions. However I definitely hear what you are saying about favourite club. What about "next thing on my to buy list and why?"

I don't see why not though I'd always give priority to people who haven't featured. Think that Bob comment may well have got you on the list though!

I have to agree with this one. Favourite course implies you have played it where as favourite hole could be anywhere in the world played by anyone.

Ok ladies and gents, after careful consideration we will be changing the Meet the Forum questions to the following:

Name/Forum Name
Club/Handicap
What will be your next golf related purchase [and why, this isnt just about clubs it could be anything from a GPS to a block of lessons]
Favourite golf hole you have ever played [and why]
Goal for the year
What's great about the forum [apart from the banter!]

As the questions have changed I'll consider submissions from people that have been in the mag before but will prioritise those that haven't. I will try and get the new questions in place for the August cover date issue. The next one to hit the shops is the Open edition so it will be the one after that.
