Masters-General chit chat

Perry seems solid enough. The Chudster is a bit fragile i.m.o.

I don't like either but Perry has been around for years and deserves to bag one major. There are some stories about him struggling to get on tour etc. and I have some respect for him. I notice he wouldn't get past the first 10 minutes of a Harold Swash putter fitting though....what a strange style...

If J.F. hits near 90% GIR he's sure to do it....

BUT....and this is the big one....I've heard so many players and coaches talk about building a swing that repeats under pressure. Furyk does not have this, it might work for him, but it requires astonishing confidence and timing....

I know i'm probably gonna get a roasting for this but.....

what's wrong with Perry or Campbell winning it?
they've played excellent all weekend and deserve to be in with a shout.
Good luck to 'em i say

Quite simply.....they're both not worthy major winners and, as i've said in another threadt, either of these 2 will de-value the Masters for me.

I understand what you're saying but Mickleson, Woods, Furyk and all the rest have all been well beaten by them.
You can't say they're not worthy, not big names yes, but come on give them there due.

Homer, part of me was really hoping there wouldn't be a playoff for the sake of the players, but the thought was always there & it does make for entertainment, but was resisting the "P" word untill it was obvious all three were there. Infact I beat Sam Torance into saying "Three-man-Playoff" to the good lady. Was quite spooky to hear him say the exact phase about 3 seconds after me.

I thought todays leaderboard was pretty tight before play and just had a feeling those at the top had maybe that extra stroke in hand on the field and didn't think either Cabrera or Perry would make many birdies

How gutted am I, I fell asleep but had it on record as I new I would.

woke up at 7 this morning to watch it, got to play off, Cabrera puts tee shot on 19th into trees and hits last tree trying to get out.....

'Your programme has ended' yeah thanks for that sky+

Anyway, I only got to see Cabrera putt out to win so dont really know how it finished, bbc highlights are pretty poor. :(

Anyway, must say, for what I seen, Perry played very well and would have been a very deserved winner in my eyes, to beat the worlds best back at that age, is as deserving of a masters as any.

Congrats to Cabrera for sticking it out.

And me!
Once Tiger and Lefties charges had come to an end, I kinda lost interest a little, and dozed off after Perry had gone two clear, thinking "that's it, he's won it".
Really shocked to wake up this morning and see he hadn't won although really pleased a European won it in the end.
I thought the Mickleson/Woods scrap was riveting

Smiffy , Cabrera's Argentinian mate ;)

Thoroughly enjoyable night of golf. Nail biting to the end and anyone who says that a golfer isn't good or worthy enough to win a major would appear to be snobbish and elitist . The two putts Cabrera had to sink , first to make the playoff and then to stay in it on the 1st play-off hole showed real guts.

Over 72 holes , Cabrera , Perry and Campbell had the best score so any of the 3 deserved to win the Masters on merit !!!

......and i had to keep laughing as Mr Alliss kept calling Kenny Perry " Kerry" :D :D

And me. As soon as Perry put his tee shot to 2ft on 16, I switched the telly off and went to bed.
I couldn't believe it had come down to me shouting for Chad Campbell to win the Masters.
Anyone but Perry.
Absolutely delighted to wake this morning to the news that Cabrera had clinched it.
As for anyone asking why not Perry?........
