Following on from the Coast thread has anyone been watching Masterchef - The Professionals. Considering these guys are suppose to be trained chefs and at the top of their game some of the stuff they are doing especially in the 10 minute trials is really scary and makes you wonder about who is preparing your food when you eat out.

On the other side, some of them have produced some top notch grub especially some of the younger contestants. That sous chef Monica that does the trials is really scary. Her face as they try and complete the task is hilarious and some of her comments are pretty blunt. I'm just waiting for her to coin Smiffy's catchphrase but as its on before the watershed probably not.

I watch it religiously (Sky+ tonight though) along with many other food programmes.

I love food with a passion.

Bet you wished you had stuck to watching Masterchef now...

Not been watching it but the online commentry suggests that Spurs are lucky to have nil

I never miss Masterchef either and also Sky+ tonight. Gareth Bale sure made the Italians sweat a little!

I think some of her comments are justified as some of the stuff they do isn't nice. then again, how would you like Monica as a boss?

pure coincidence, but a guy I sit alongside at work is a mate of one of the set designers for Masterchef. up to now they've used end-of-range flat-pack stuff out of MFI, Homebase, B&Q etc (though decent ovens/fridges etc). next series they are apparently breaking the bank with a purpose designed set, justified in their eyes as they've sold the franchise to loads of countries.

oh, and a half-hour programme can take all day to make, they often cook the same thing several times over, and there is more than a little editing and scripting. generally though the best usually does win but sometimes others will go if it makes better television.

I still like watching it.
