Manchester Refs XI v Villa

The Murphy one wasn't a pen either. Just another act of cheating by an attacker trying to get a penalty.

Anywhere else on the park that's a foul.

Carrick tackled murphy from behind, never made contact with the ball and kicked his foot and you're saying that's not a foul??

The contact was so slight it wouldn't cause anyone to blink, let alone someone like Murphy roll to the floor.

The game has gone so soft. Players go into the box looking for tiny contact so they can roll over, contact alone isn't enough to be a foul. It should've been a pen based on the pathetic penalties that get given normally. I just think all these soft pens should be kicked out of the game.

not read any post so sorry if duplicate, being a CITY FAN bit cheesed of that VILLA had a gang of kids playing, and some so the manager said have very little experience in the reserves!!!!! how can this be right, your playing MAN UTD away in the poem,if you wish to blood the kids why not at home against lesser opposition, they might as well have just given the 3 points and not got off the bus.

if we win more penalties than other sides perhaps its because we're the best side in the country so our attack generally is able to force more errors and fouls than others...

So Danny Murphy tripped on the grass at Old Trafford then? CLear penalthy and the ref bottled it. Even Fergie was tantamount to saying Young dived. He knows it, players and managers know it and you can bet referees will know it now too. I have to say your post is typical blinkered United.

I can't agree more with you. Football is ruined because you can't tackle.

The biggest problem is consistency, and the refs aren't consistent with their decisions.

Totally agree. One week you have someone almost breaking a leg, yet no card is given and the FA say no ban. Yet Young has now conned his way to 2 penalties in a week, caused someone a red card that wasn't overturned.

Before any United fans get defensive.....this isn't aimed at you, it happens with every side. Last season Man City won 3-2 at Blackpool and some of the decisions in that game were laughable. City were literally gifted 3 points by the ref and those lost points cost Blackpool relegation. Wigan were done over at Chelsea big time last weekend aswell, thankfully they've picked up 6 points from Man Utd and Arsenal, so should be safe.

If there wasn't any contact then the boy/girl (don't follow much footy so not sure which Young is yet) deserves to be marched to the bastion and shot. But in this instance even though there was only ever so slight contact he has the right to go down IMO. If one of the Villa players had done something in a similar fashion there probably wouldn't be a thread.

he threw his leg into the villa man then did a bunny hop! jesus!

Back in the day you got awarded a penalty...

Nowadays you win a penalty...

The F1 in HD seems better than the BBC feed for some reason too (I know it's probably the same one!).

It's not you know ;). Sky has their own HD cameras at the tracks. I know one of the crew (lucky B*****) and he says the BBC guys pitch up late and leave early (Sky are there for about 11 hours the day of the race, the BBC guys are there for about 5...)

I though the BBC uses the FIA F1 feed for the race which is provided for all TV channels including Sky. The BBC/Sky just add their commentators and pit/grid cameras.

Lads, lads, lads.. you're moving away from the point of this thread, which was to take the mick out of Arsenal fans after being stuffed by the Mighty 'tics last night.. It wasn't? oh thats right, it was about another disputed penalty awarded to a big club against a small club.. Old news...

The fa and FIFA are to blame for all this cheating and diving because these are the ones who have turned this game into a non contact sport by banning tackles from behind sliding tackles etc etc.

All this diving and cheating happens in la liga and serie A etc every week.

Scenario here, Frank lampard wins a 50/50 tackle against scotty parker by sliding in and winning 100% of the ball, his momentum takes him through the player causing no injury thou Scotty parker rolls round holding his ankle. Why should lampard be booked or sent off??

The rule makers have ruined this once beautiful game now.

Agreed, the last 2 world cups have been awful. It was a race to hit the ground, whoever hit the ground first won a foul. Joe Cole was the worst culprit out of everyone in Germany, the first time he stayed on his feet he scored a goal. The refferees totally stuck to Blatter's plan - non contact sport.
