Manchester courses

Hi,

I'm in Manchester this weekend could anyone recommend some decent courses I could play?
I'm based in Denton and will be playing alone so preferably a quiet course if I tee off early.
Denton looks very nice but is members only until 3pm

Heaton Park is one of the best Municipals I've played. Bit of a heart-attack hill near the end though!

Second that Heaton Park is fantastic muni. If I wasn't playing cricket id meet for a round. Hole 11 is fantastic 200+ yard par 3 over a ravine. And the 17th all I can say is hit the green into and leave your bag at the bottom, just walk up it with your putter and long iron for the 18th. The 17th is a killer of a walk!

You might struggle getting on Heaton Park at short Notice As its always Rammed at weekends, your also looking at 5hr rounds. It is a cracking course though with some great Holes.

Whitefield is always an option on Saturdays as their Comp day is Sunday, You also might get a Twilight deal at Stand GC and Manchester GC.
Im not that clued up on the south Manchester and Stockport courses but Theres probably plenty of options over there also and nearer for you if your in Denton.

You may have a chance at Fairfield , it was the captained drive today and its usually quiet the day after, there is a comp in the morning but give the pro a call on 0161 370 2292.

heaton park looks great, do you think if I got over there tomorrow around 630am - 7am it would be quiet and I would be able to get out?
