Manchester City's Fine (and I don't mean ok !)

£50m, what does that mean to them? If the owners are bothered then it just means that they will only spend £100m in the summer rather than the £150m they probably would. CL ban is what would hurt them, 1 season ban would do it, as that would probably cost them £50m too in lost revenue. Next time they get a 3 year ban and so on.

All the fine has done is let a club with a bottomless pit get away with breaking the rules.
the problem is that the FA and premierleague don't have any rules re finances. Also, uefa is a business. So fines are good for them. Having some if the worlds players not participate is not good for tv figures and revenue.

I personally think the rule is a joke, why shouldn't a business be able to spend money they have? If it all goes wrong I would pity the fans either. They'll of had 10 good years so have to take rough with the smoove.

The joke of a fine is £6800 to Serbia for their fans shouting racial abuse.

FFP is a joke and they were never going to really come down hard on teams spending money like Champ Manager.

The attitude of Mr Platini certainly changed when money flooded into PSG and Monaco - he was very vocal before

And why am I'm not surprised that someone managed to bring Liverpool into it !

"Liverpool, UTD and the rest" which is pretty fair as quite a few other fans do moan.

were they not quite close to facing sanctions too over FFP.......

Probably for the same reason that you mention Monaco. Previously 'Not Applicable' as not in CL, but now in CL and with almost certainly with FFP threshold busting losses.

Actually, no! Liverpool wasn't 'brought into it' at all - simply mentioned in passing, along with ManU!

But now that YOU have brought Liverpool into it..... A 90+ Million sale of 1 player would go a long way to getting back under the threshold! Chelsea could well be constrained too, as the Loss last year was mitigated by a Profit the year before.

Seems like we can't mention Liverpool fc (even when talking about other teams aswell) without some throwing their teddy out.
Poor us yet again.
Shall we just write how Great Stevie G & Brenda are???

Not that I know but we do need to be a bit smart in regards transfers.

And the last two replies pretty much some up the attitude in regards football teams on here. Utterly obsessed beyond belief. Actually to the point of being pathetic.

im a city fan and the word on the fanzone is about the 3 ENGLISH players we are going to sign after the world cup, according to very good info 2 have signed but nothing can be said or done for legal reasons till then, all 3 very young players and all play for top 5 clubs this season, the money doesnt count on our transfer limit as counted as under 21's and therefore youth team also charitable donation covers some ,according to fanzone we are also off loading 80 million quids worth of players.

It will never happen but at some point in the future, why don't UEFA go down the US route and introduce some sort of salary cap for the CL for each and every team so they all compete within the same parameters

So our losses are down to infrastructure which are allowed under FFP - no problems there then

That's only a 'perhaps'! Liverpool's finances weren't examined because they weren't in European competitions - so that's what meant 'no problem'.

But now that they are in Europe, their finances for the 'last 2 years' will come under FFP examination - in early 2015.

Same with Monaco.

So the FFP regs are having an effect. Whether it's a desirable effect or simply distorts things is too early to tell. But if it brings an already distorted environment back under some 'control' then it's a good thing imo.

I think it's wishful thinking that Charitable Donations cover anything near the huge overspend!

I believe the sanctions will get harsher in the future. They certainly should imo!
