£50 MILLION !!!! What a joke. Typical of shitini and shatter. As soon as an English club is starting to threaten world domination, in they go trying to prevent it. Something must be done with these two muppets. If I were City I'd be contacting the top clubs in Europe and form that European league and split off from the constrains of UEFA (is that the ruling body?) Just what are those two going to do with the dosh? Split it between them into their Swiss accounts? It's a disgrace.

wow, wasn't the thread I thought it was going to be when I read the first sentence!!

I agree, its a joke, £50m to them is nothing. they'll pay and move on with a worthless player limit in the CL. They broke the rules, simple as, but the punishment should be something that would deter them and other teams from breaking the ffp rules in the future.

But, you do make a valid point as to where the money will end up? might have been mentioned somewhere but I haven't seen it.

Tosh!

£32 Million of it was/is suspended. So probably little more than the cost of one of their players' wages!

They knew the rules, but defied them anyway!

Same fine as PSG which did the same thing. So consistent!

They (and PSG) got off lightly imo.

I think its getting split betweent he premier league clubs.

Ha! I thought this thread was going to be about how the fine was peanuts and City should be penalised more!

They broke the rules thanks to their sugar daddy owners, pouring millions and millions into the club to pay exorbitant wages. How can other teams without that kind of backing compete with that?

FFP doesn't go far enough IMO. That fine is nothing to City.

Fines to clubs with almost bottomless pits are pointless. What do clubs want? They want to be in the Champion's league. Make the penalty a 2 season ban from the CL, then you'll see clubs behaving.

If they fail to abide by agreed future spending caps etc 32mil will be refunded of not all last season PL clubs are looking like getting a million each of the fine!

Would love to be in CEO As he writes those cheques out! :D

Apparently a part of the fine is split between their domestic competitions who followed rules. So all other 19 prem league teams.
The oil teams have already said the fines make no difference. PSG and city will continue the projects. The premierleague don't have any rules against it either. I could almost see city having two squads. One primarily for prem and one for Europe. As long as they have a core of 20 players for champs league they're not being average amount of olayers used anyway.

Clubs like city and chelski have spoiled football as in many cases they buy every good player that comes on the market so others cant have them then loan them out or sit them on the bench , bottomless pits yes but only if the owners stick around and in the interest of fair play they should have been fined more . anyway Yaya wants out as he did not get a birthday bash , £220 000 a week , its his birthday every week is it not , wants same as Rooney at Man U , big fool them for paying it , it will one day come back to bite them , Pompey, Leeds to name a few that lived beyond means and look at them now , we have to live life with what we earn , if everyone spent or run thier lives like this lot we be in a state ............................EYG

Best thing to happen in the Prem was City & Chelsea getting the new owners. We now watch the best players in the world & it gives UTD,Liverpool & the rest something to blame their own failures on.

Cant say I've heard too many UTD fans blame the oil clubs tbf. Since Chelsea got took over UTD have still had as much success. Might be about to change though.

I think ink the money has been great for the prem. Only downside is certain fans all of a sudden thinking their clubs have always been superpowers after a few good seasons.

Claims like city were on for world domination when they've not even dominated England yet, let alone Europe or the world.

Yeah fair enough. Does make me laugh when people believe their team play with home grown players just because they've got a couple of average players making numbers up.

Home grown is just a fashionable idea. I'm currently lucky as a saints fan. we are made up by a core of home grown players. But I want my team to do well each year and I'll cheer on our players irrespective of their nationality. Same as any fan really.

£50m, what does that mean to them? If the owners are bothered then it just means that they will only spend £100m in the summer rather than the £150m they probably would. CL ban is what would hurt them, 1 season ban would do it, as that would probably cost them £50m too in lost revenue. Next time they get a 3 year ban and so on.

All the fine has done is let a club with a bottomless pit get away with breaking the rules.

The joke of a fine is £6800 to Serbia for their fans shouting racial abuse.

FFP is a joke and they were never going to really come down hard on teams spending money like Champ Manager.

The attitude of Mr Platini certainly changed when money flooded into PSG and Monaco - he was very vocal before

And why am I'm not surprised that someone managed to bring Liverpool into it !
