Afternoon Gents

A colleague of mine is off to Magaluf in September as seeing as there was space in the holiday diary I thought I might aswell join him :)

Anyone been there before and able to recommend places to stay or places to avoid?

We're going on either 7th or 8th of September for 7 nights of mischief.

I love Majorca, but never been to Magaluf, not my scene. Heard from friends that it's just a 'sunny Blackpool' which puts me off.
Been to Alcudia loads though, my favourite holiday destination by far.

Love alcudia! North of the island and soooo stunning! Plus only an hour or so from magaluf. We was there when Spain won the world cup! Place went wild. Strangely enough I was in Paris when France won the world cup in 98 haha im a good omen

Had my stag in Magaluf Sept '11, tremendous time had by all
Some decent bars and clubs but no need to go to clubs if thats not your thing, bars are open to 4am(ish). Have you booked your digs?

2 scratches on my bedpost from Ragamuff years ago.

Go to Pirates for a laugh. If you want a boss night out, go to a place called son amar.

You get bussed up to a place in the mountains like a castle, fed, great entertainment, disco and light/water display afterwards. Just as a different type of night.

Nope nothing booked yet. We're looking at something pretty close to the action, seen a cheap one right on the back of BCM but don't fancy being that close to the action, maybe just at the end of the strip but close enough that I don't have to work up a sweat getting to my first bar :)

From memory there is also palma nova, which had virtually joined magaluf 20 years ago, and not far to walk.

if it's Fiesta Jungla/Tropica book it,next to BCM's is just a slight stager from the action.

Whatever you do dont go to the Fiesta Sahara its a **** hole. Rude staff, apparently a lot of stealing by the cleaners, I went there last year and someone (apparently) got stabbed.
Pirates is a good night out though

We stayed at the HM Martinique, was something like £12 per person per night, you could upgrade to all inclusive which got you breakfast, lunch and dinner and all your beer / spirits etc for about £20 per day. Food wasn't 5* but it lines your stomach for a day/nite on the tiles.
The hotel was cracking, about 5-10 mins walk to the main strip, but plenty bars on the way if you fancy a crawl. Nice big pool which was jammed during the day with groups of stags and hens. No trouble at all when we were there.

We used a bus transfer company from the airport which were really good too, i'll try and dig out the details for you.

I remember going about 8 years ago with 18 of us ( all blokes) Lets just say if its not a cultral holiday you want, your going to the right place.

Blew 1500 squid in 7 days, BCM defo worth a visit, the foam parties were the nuts!

Plenty of lovely ( used the term loosely ) ladies who are there for exactly the same reason. Weekdays the clubs/bars etc were better as mainly brits as no locals around.

Back then there was a great english pub just down the road from BCM where you could get a full english and a pint on the way back to digs after leaving clubs at 7am!

Highly recomended! Just gotta watch out for the "lookey lookey men" on every street corner trying to sell anything from drugs to lighters, also saw the police give out many a beating as they do not know how to deal with pissed brits and are not backwards in laying in and asking questions later!
