Against all odds! Champions with one game left to play!
Favorites for relegation at the start of the season, with only four players under contract. A team was built by the clubs legendary player and now manager. With possibly the smallest playing buget in the league. Players not being paid on time in January. A host of volunteer staff helping out. It's nothing short of a footballing miracle. They've stuck to their guns all season and played a passing game of football, that's pleasing on the eye. Congratulations to John Askeys men. Real football and a credit to English football. :D:D:D :whoo:

I'm pleased for Macclesfield. I used to know someone who was involved at Gateshead and promotion is usually a money game. Most players in the league are on annual contracts and so players come and go. The better players gravitate towards the big money, no criticism there, and usually the teams with either a rich owner or big support are at the top. For Macclesfield to go up based on your description is quite a feat.

We loose our best players at the end of every season, usually to other local clubs, with Tranmere and Wrexham getting the better ones and the manager having to rebuild each season. This year he's found some real quality and blended them into a great team, which is the real skill of being a manager. Most, as you say will be on yearly contracts, so we will loose the better ones and the hunt will be on to find league standard players who will sign up for one year.

A colleague of mine lives there, he was saying only this morning you can get a bog standard season ticket for the princely sum of £80 and it’s getting frozen for next season.

Speaking up for the wee teams.
Well done to Ayr United in pipping Raith to the Scots Div one championship.
First British team to score 100 goals this year and took 1,300 fans to Alloa for their penultimate game.
Hope Raith get the play off place.

Well done Macclesfield, super job, hope they can consolidate and stay up.
Also great to see my boyhood team The Famous Wycombe Wanderers gain promotion to league one.

Just hope we can keep Gareth Ainsworth as manager and why isn’t Akinfenwa on the plane to Russia as part of the England set up, ?

............... and at the other end Woking were relegated yesterday to the Conference South.

Someday Woking might start playing. Given that it is a fairly affluent town with all the overspill from London the Cards should have a bit more money and players but alas...

Well done Macc

Aldershot lost their 3 best players to League Clubs or would have stormed it! :D

Well done to Macc though!

They should still get in the play-offs though and have a chance of getting back into the league. I was there at their last league home game last time. I'd like to see them back along with my old local club Sutton.

My dad had a spell with Sutton United back in the day.
