Lydia Ko joins PXG

Ko's having a clear-out. New equipment manufacturer, ditched Leadbetter, what's next? Just hope she doesn't just use her Dad as her swing coach, from what Leadbetter was saying, he's clueless.

Doubt changing clubs is going to negatively impact her game much, if at all. Having her parents even more involved in not only her schedule but her golf swing as well can not be a positive thing. Could be seeing a decline on a scale even bigger than Wie's. Needs to find a proper swing coach and find one soon otherwise this is not going to end well.

Christina Kim changed to PXG as well.

I am surprised. I did not get the feeling that PXG were going after a female target audience at all. It surely is a brand that does not appeal to me at all, even if I could afford to pay that much for a set of clubs, I would probably go for one of the much more elegant high end Japanese brands.

The name of pros they've signed is impressive, to me, the clubs look brilliant. If I ever found myself with a spare £££££ I'd love to "invest" in a set.

I think its an easier market in the pro game for them to get into. Most of the female pros they have are big names and ones that would get a lot of coverage when on TV etc, so for them it makes sense. Get a lot of exposure in the game.

🤔 It wasn't intended to be,but if I've said something stupid then yes it is 😬

No no, not at all. I could not initially work out if you were saying "Why are PXG sponsoring a lady golfer when they don't make any ladies equipment/ The ladies game is not a very lucrative market" or "Why is the world number 1 lady using a new to the scene brand"

Given the amount of money the owner has to splash about, and the calibre of designers he has poached, they should be as big a success as he wants to fund. Its up to him really.

To me, the clubs aren't pretty, but i am not their target market, clearly.
