Just added a wanted TM Hybird 18/19 to For Sale Section.

Just wanted a bit of feedback.

Current set up
TM V Steel 3 Wood 15 deg
TM V Steel 5 Wood 18 Deg
Superfast Mid Rescue 22 deg

5 wood isnt getting much use - always favour the hybrid.

Generally speaking would the shaft on a low lofted hybrid be shorter than a standard 5 wood?

Cheers

My 18* 5 wood is a low launcher (custom fitted shaft) so goes about 220

My 4 iron goes about 180

My 18.5* 3 iron replacement goes about 200

It is a combination of shaft length and face angle.

Stand one up against the other, for every inch differnece it is about 10 yards (approximate, many other factors are involved!)

If I had a VSteel 5 wood 18 deg and a Mid Resuce 18 deg - wouldnt the face angle be the same?

Im concerned with the difference (if there is one) in shaft length, on the basis that although the hybrid will be easier to hit of the deck - will a shorter shaft sacrifice distance in view club head will be travelling less distance?

Thanks

In theory you should make a better contact with the shorter shafted club therefore hitting it further.
However...
For the same loft, a fairway wood will go further due to the longer shaft but it'll only really make a difference if you have a fairly low swing speed. Lower swing speeds will hit the fairway much further due to the extra spin the fairway gives you - keeps the ball in the air for longer. At higher swing speeds the extra spin actually costs you yards and the distances will be similar.
