I seem to have lost my confidence with my 3 wood.

I've owned a Mizuno F60 for some time now. A second hand purchase with a Fuji stiff shaft. Initially the club was fine both off the tee and from the fairway. Nowadays I just don't seem to be able to hit the ball with it from either tee or fairway.
Tending to sky it from the tee or badly slice from the fairway.
Could it be that the shaft is too stiff for me? My swing is not particularly quick, would a medium shaft suit better?

I have to be honest and say I've ditched the 3 wood at the moment in favour of an extra wedge. I can get to where I need to with my 5 wood or hybrid on the holes I would have hit 3 wood on and I'm playing my wedges well. Just a suggestion. I would say the skying off the tee is more a swing issue than the shaft not working correctly although it may be more of an issue when you are slicing. I think a good pro would put you straight in seconds in terms of the skying or the advice on different shafts.

Sounds like you might be chopping down into the ball a touch (subsequently launching it upwards) instead of a more sweeping motion.

Try hitting some balls not more than 2 feet off the ground and see what happens........ the loft should do the rest.

stuff seeing a pro... this sounds like the ideal opporchancity to buy a new 3 wood :D

Then you'll have the usual honeymoon period with that club when everything just goes right... until the next time :D
