Think half day is on the cards and get myself out for a probably very muddy 18. Been dying to test out my new putter and today could be the day.

Anyone else out on the course today?

Ours is till closed and waiting for an update about Brampton and will play there if it's open. Beginning to get itchy feet now and need to feel grass and not a mat beneath them!

Practice area for me today, try out my newly shortened 3 wood, I took an inch and an eighth off of it yesterday, also fitted the Aldila NV105 shaft into my hybrid yesterday so I'll give that a bash too!

Brampton on temp tees and greens so will pass and the range it is.

Craw - why the reduction in 3 wood shaft? HID bought one and is struggling a bit and mentioned he felt it might help to take an inch off...

Our course reopened yesterday after being closed for 10 days.To be honest it was in surprisingly good condition.Pretty dry everywhere and although the greens were a little soft they weren't wet.I was almost suicidal untill yesterday as i'm 2 weeks into a months holiday from work and had played hardly any golf, although my wife was happy as the bathroom tiling thats been on hold for the last 18 months is now in the "almost finished" stage. :)

It has always fealt too long, manufacturers are obsessed with length these days and its wrong!

When I gripped my 3 wood I always had at least an inch to an inch and a half poking out the end of my grip so I blew the grip yesterday, measured, a bit of masking tape and the hacksaw came out to play. New grip tape, some white spirtit and re fitted the grip that I blew off!

Feels magic and I love farting about with clubs!

Will be interesting to hear how it performs!

I was unsure if white spirit was ok for graphite shafts, this is good to know, thanks.

White Spirit, turps, petrol, hairspray, alcohol. It all works and wont damage your shaft. It evaporates after time.

No golf for me till Saturday, but we are back on full greens since Monday.

And they had ironed them so were running pretty well i'm told.
