today i had a mess about with the new 48 inch long "long tom" it went sooooooo far but boy was it hard to hit straight.
so this got me thinking, i am 6ft 4 and my playing partner is 5ft 9 and we use identical drivers. so, is this how my friend feels evert time he uses his driver.

i think its odd that all my clubs are plus 1 inch but not my woods. my friend recons i should buy the long tom so we are even on a scale. would that be fair comparison?

Depends on the course length you play, I personally would not touch a longer shaft unless properly fitted for it and I would get some on course benefit.

Getting fitted for a shaft was the best thing I did, I think I am a decent driver of the ball and I think most of that is because I have the correct shaft.

Great question, wish there was an answer. I love driving and am standard hight 5 10 maybe, I feel WAY more comfortable with a driver in my hand than any other club and am way better with it than any other club. I guess if length intimidates (no pun intended) then ye, maybe he/others feel like that.

God knows really, I wonder if you can control the Long Tom better then someone with less stature? I guess that would be the telling factor.
