what gives you the most satisfaction? personally im more pleased with the drive although i know the putt matters most, only because i think of myself as a decent putter, but my driving?....welllllll

Has to be the birdie putt. Even if you hit a bad drive you can still hit the recovery onto the green to set up the birdie. The putt is a one off though and so is a special feeling to make it

Not really a question I can answer. If you offer me a banana split or a birdie, I'll take the banana split, preferably with choccy sauce.
Can't beat a birdie putt.

Nice to have a nice drive but if it takes six to get in the hole it means nowt, birdie putt every time as it shows youve probably hit a good drive and a nice iron or wedge.

Has to be the drive because once I put myself in a decent position off the tee I am at least giving myself a chance of a good score. Driving is definately the weakest part of my game so every one needs to count.

Has to be drive for me too. You ain't got much chance of a birdie if you don't get the drive away well! :D

Birdie putt for me. You can put you drive into the light rough/1st cut and still get on for a birdie chance.

With the way my putting has been recently, I have to take the birdie putt.

Example: Was playing at Woodlands GC in Bristol - Drove the green on the last (about 300 yards) and 4 putted for bogey :-(

As nice as it was driving that far to the green (love my new driver), I'd have taken a shorter, uglier drive and a lay up if it meant sinking it for a bird.

Most satisfaction is from holing a birdie putt as that puts the lid on the objective for that hole i.e ball in hole in as few shots as possible.

IMO the most important shot on each hole is from the tee, if you don't get it into a playable position* then those birdie putts will be extremely rare.

* Note: It doesn't necessarily have to be a fairway splitting bomber.

To get a birdie putt means you have to have set yourself up for it in the first place, which generally means a well played hole from the start.

A drive down the middle is just one shot, but you still have the rest of the hole to complete and there's no guarantee what you'll score.

However, the other day I was struggling with my driver, but on one hole there was a 4-ball watching us as they needed to cross our path to get to their next tee. I hit my driver dead straight and down the middle, and I had an enormous sense of satisfaction.

Unfortunately it's extremely rare for me to get the opportunity to hit a putt for birdie.
