Anyone putting in for the ballot for this?

I'm undecided, I try and run twice a week at work and would like to do it one day but just dont know.. Think I'm going to do the training plan though.

Enter the ballot regardless as the odds of getting a place aren't great. From memory if you get 5 consecutive "rejections" (many do) then you will automatically get in the next time you apply.

If you get a place and then find you haven't been able to commit to the training as you'd like then you have the option to defer for a year. You'd have to pay another entry fee if you decided then to run in 2014.

Edit - having run 5 London marathons and something like 20 odd other ones I won't be entering! Been there and done that and kept getting injured so golf is my obsession now!

It's an amazing experience, the atmosphere from the crowds and amongst your fellow runners is worth all the effort. I've done it a few times but the time commitment required (if you want to get a respectable time) are just too great for me nowadays.

For anyone who enjoys running it's an event that you really should do at least once!

Think it's guaranteed place after 3 fails in the ballot IIRC

I am in the ballot, if my knees can cope, have had six months off running after numerous marathons and ironman triathlons

Amanda they stopped the five rejections last year only those on 3 consecutive now are still in the runnings

The ballot odds are 1 in 5
