So I won a competition on twitter the other day for a 2 ball at the London Golf Club on the International Course.

Couple of questions;

How difficult is the course?
How busy is it?
What is the best time to play it?

Well they hold local open qualifying there so Its a good test of golf.
I presume you'll be of the yellows so its not impossible , although there are a couple of par 3's with big carrys over water.

I'd not want to play there in peak summer when the rough will be up so would say spring or late autumn.

No idea how busy, its a members course so guess you'll have no problems getting a reasonable time.

i played there last week and it was in decent condition - the greens were like glass.

you will also get use of the practice facilities.

it's not overly long and the rough had been cut down so you could be a bit off line and not be punished.

the international is not the members course and so is the busier of the 2.

the food is good as well and i would recommend the full English before hand

It's a nice course and you will have a lovely time - just allow plenty of time ....

Be prepared to have someone meet you at reception and remove your clubs and shoes from the car and then park your car

Changing rooms are lovely

Food is fab

Practice facilities are stunning so allow an hour before you play just to experience that area

International is public but can get busy in the summer - I am a 28 handicap and enjoyed it - I would probably play it sooner rather than post may

Not as hard as you expect as its quite wide and the greens are big as well. Short(ish) as well off yellows against a par of 72.

Lovely place and agree with the others to turn up early and take full advantage

Excellent, thanks all. I think I'll book a weekday so we're not in a rush. Noted on the turn up early for a breakfast and to experience the practice areas too.

Just realised they use the wilderness club for regional qualifications now.

I bagged a fourball in a Charity Auction - we played on a weekday in July. Wasn't very busy at all.

Rough wasn't too penal - except on the par 3 12th. (Even if you don't nob it off the tee like I did, its worth a quick wander through the rough as you go down the slope - we searched for about 3 mins and came out with about 20 balls each).

I'd agree with the majority of posts but add that I've played it a few times and, because it's at the top of Wrotham Hill it can get VERY windy and wet. Also, it may be effectively their number 2 course but it did host the World Matchplay a couple of years ago.
