Having not played in for years I have now played 3 Texas Scramble comps in 3 weeks.

Reminded of the London buses comment about waiting a hour for one and 3 turn up at the same time.

I used to enjoy playing a Texas Scramble but got a bit bored with them as my previous club put so many of them on.

Also, when I got to know the format and realised you pretty much had to flag everything and hole everything or you were just making up the numbers.

I have just remembered that we are having another one first week in October for the new Captains Drive In competition.

As a competitions organiser I have tried to get other formats but get overruled when it was seen the last one was a great success.

Texas scrambles work well at certain events. Usually at corporate days, and fun days at golf clubs. Too many and they can get a little tedious though!
