Lockdown and booze

Never been a big drinker either at the pub or at home, I'm definitely having more now though, especially last weekend when the weather was good.

I enjoy a drink. I enjoy the different styles of beer. Its fun to seek out styles I've not had before and if its not possible to find them commercially its fun to try to brew them at home.

Id say i'm an habitual drinker...I drink most nights...not to excess....just a couple of pints, sometimes only one, sometimes three. There may be one or two days in a week that I dont drink anything. Yes I drink more than what is considered a safe level these days, I have no other vices in life.

I would however say that my intake has gone up a little since I started working from home some 4 weeks ago.

I don’t drink any more than before, but I drink a bit more than I should. Especially as my exercise level has dropped off so much

Other than the home brew bit that saved me a bit of typing ??
I've not counted to see if I've just replaced the drinks I'd have at the club or local bar with the extras I'm having at home
It certainly looks worse because I'm buying extra due to fewer opportunities to shop and I found a wine/cider store that'll do a home delivery if you meet the (chunky) min spend

Massively less, and my weight hasn't changed or come down, so it's a myth, so when this lockdown is lifted, I'm bang at it......

No change for me as regards home drinking, one small glass of wine at night (approx 150 ml) but not had a drink outside of home since the lockdown.

Gone up a little bit but that was mostly due to light beers during the warm weather we had and nothing better to do than sit in the garden and enjoy it, will go down again now its cooled off.

I usually do increase my intake around holidays as I only drink a beer on Friday and Saturday nights otherwise.

I don't touch wine, foul stuff and spirits are to expensive for anything other than xmas eve and new year.

I would say I struggle to get over 10 units a week on a busy week, which the last few have been.

i usually start with wine at Dinner after a hard day at work;), but with no work why wait, couple of belgian beers with breakfast, then maybe a G&T at lunchtime before moving onto wine about 4 ish.... asleep by 8pm

I don't really drink at home generally, it's only when I'm out with friends. Since lockdown me and my mates have been doing a weekly Zoom meeting on Saturday nights so I have a few beers then, but only really 4 or 5. So I think my drinking levels are about the same. I've never seen the point of sitting at home getting hammered on the sofa, getting drunk is something I do with mates at the pub.

not wanting to offend but I find it almost sad that a person "has" to drink at home because the pubs are closed or just drink to get through the day.
I'm only looking at this from my point of view but I've never understood "the need" to have alcohol.
Sums up my feelings on this kind of thing to. I literally never drink at home, I've even got a bottle of whiskey that was given to me when I left my last job in kent, all wrapped in a nice display box telling me its 18 years old. Well it was 2 years ago I got it so now its 20 years old and still unopened.

Whereas I know my sister gets through 7-10 bottles of wine a week at home and often posts the need to have a drink on Facebook. I've always found anyone that needs a drink or says that need it quite a sad state of affairs. Even when we go out I'll happily drive and have a coke because I don't ever need one or often fancy one.

Teetotal now , been playing golf with a lad who dosnt drink and it’s rubbed off on me.
Never been a drinker really because I was a crane driver and any incidents we were breathalysed .
Could take or leave it.
But I never found a drink I could consume enough that I really liked, so never been drunk!

I think for many on here there will be less need but more want. I enjoy a beer or a glass of wine regardless of setting or company, much in the same way as I enjoy a tea or coffee. That's nothing to do with need.
