Local Authority Elections

Worst possible result for Labour voters. Made just enough ground to keep Corbyn in position. Oh well, we're just biding our time, waiting for Momentum to lose....We'll.... Momentum I suppose.

An opposition party should expect to do well at a time when the Government is unpopular but Labour could not capitalise on this.

If not able to win in targets like Swindon, Wandsworth and Nuneaton then the outlook for Labour is not exactly ŕosy.

Amen to that brother, in a day and age when we have May, Boris etc. They should be easy targets. But when you have Comrade Corbyn and Miss Abbott. It just about sums up the dire selection choice Joe Public has at the moment. If the Lib dems ever have a chance to do well. Now is that time. Not holding me breath though.

In Derby Labour lost control of the council. The two biggest losses for Labour were the council leader (who lost to a UKIP candidate) and the Mayor.
Those losses are more down to local dissatisfaction with the way the council is run than it is an anti-labour issue, in fact much of the city of Derby is staunchly Labour (Margaret Beckett's safe seat for example).
There have been too many cuts - which ironically can probably be blamed on Tory cuts from central govt.

Tories lost our seat, usually rock solid.

Made the mistake of trying to flog off popular green space for 750 houses with no infrastructure uplift.

Blew up in their faces.

Even I crossed the picket line and joined in with the commies. Billy Bragg and a few pints of mixed for me tonight ✊

Waiting for the great leap forwards.....

Willie Wroe was a nice little course till the council let it go. Chuffed to bits they got a bloody nose.

No vote here. But who cares? Deep Blue here no chance of changing things EVER. Our council is full of OLD people who have no idea what the young want and waste literally MILLIONS of pounds of our money each year!!!!!
Ageist attitude, that's disgusting. Maybe we should take the vote away from older people, while were at it why stop there, Women and Black people could be included, I know what! lets only give votes to 18/40 year old whites, they probably know all the answers

They deserve a lot more too Brian. The way they went about it, depending ones mood, was either condescending, naive or retarded.

Spent hours on there as a kid finding balls and flogging them to the barber in Flixton village.

Am still hoping the land will be saved and kept as a town moor type open space.

Corrected for you brother

😂😂, reminds me of when we had companies come out to put in bids to supply the pits with High viz equipment. The pit owners insisted on donkey jackets being in the bid. One of the companies said " who the fcuk would want to wear black coat in a coal mine".
