Stay away from the demon drink,it can harm your golf!!

I was out for a refreshments on Sunday and on the way home I took a tumble and I am now nursing a set of ribs that have muscle damage and bruising and a right wing that has much of the same!I did my ribs a couple of years back and I had forgotten just how bloody sore an injury to this part of the body is!

Doc says it could be anything from 7 to 21 days before I am ready to take a swipe again which aint good news seeing as I have rounds at The Hirsel, Musselburgh,Royal Aberdeen and The Torrance coming up over within the next 10 days!

Must remind myself to walk on the other side of the road next time I am walking home as there must be a booby trap set where I tumbled as my pal had a near fatal tumble at the exact same spot about 5 years back......twilight zone stuff!

Of course I am receiving no sympathy from the other half at all...I said to her yesterday that there must have been a hole in the ground to which she replied ''It wasn't the hole in the ground that was the problem it was that muckle hole in yer fat face that you were hoying the drink through that's the problem son!!'' :o ;)

Not so good. If it makes you feel any better I make my comeback on Thursday with a bit of Donald Duck.

Unlucky Dodger, but I am sure you will play through the pain...a couple of Paramol and away you go*

*Disclaimer - I am not a GP

Has your partner got a warm and fluffy side :) :)

No laughing, sneezing or coughing or you'll regret it!

Bad luck but as someone who is still out of the game 8 months after I last ventured onto a course I cannot sympathise for a mere 3 weeks out. :p

Maybe you could sue the council as their streets are clearly not fit for purpose! - that purpose being staggering home blootered. :D ;)

3 near sneezes so far but passed by without incident by grabbing my hooter and nipping the sneeze in the bud!!

8 months?? What's the injury?!

Adhesive capsulitis ( type of frozen shoulder), can go along fine but put arm in certian spots and it's murder. Just takes time to thaw out. Has been bothering me since October 2009 but got really bad last August. Physio and ibuprofen help and it's better than it was last winter.

Playing Gullane 2 this Saturday, just going to see how it goes. Will be delighted if I can get the ball airborne! ;)

Hoping this great weather holds.

Damaged my wrist a couple of years ago - cue jokes - and was out for two / three months - thankfully was over winter so was only due range work but still was very frustrating.

Went skiing last and came back unharmed but was terrified of any kind of trip or fall.

All the best

Ribs are a sore one.

I broke 2 playing football years back just before I was due to go on a lads holiday. Doctor told me not to even think about getting on the plane as the cabin is pressurised and the pain would be constant. He was right!! 4 hours to Crete and I had to drink (more than usual) all the way to try and take the edge off it, was brutal.

Hope you recover quickly, just take one of those sumo suits to the pub for the walk home next time!!

Bad luck Dodger, hope your recovery is closer to 7 days than 21.

As it happens I'm nursing a bit a sore rib myself at the moment which I picked up on a waterslide in Florida last Friday. At the time it hurt like hell but it's now only a dull pain when I move or sneeze and I managed to play golf on Monday with no issue so I figure it can't be serious.

Dodger,

Sorry to hear that. Hope it get better soon and that you are back on the course soon. Is it going to have any long term damage or is it a case of waiting for the injury to heal

Nowt long term bar her face tripping her! ;)

They say a weeks a long time in politics,I have a feeling that it is going to have to be for me to get me okay for Royal Aberdeen week Friday!Been at graft today all day and don't think twisting and turning from the chair/desk has helped as I am in fu##i#g agony at the moment!
