Hello there, this is my first post..

can anyone answer this question...

If I leave my marker on the green; can I line my ball up, step away... recheck my line, go back to my ball, readjust it.. step away.. see that I'm happy with my alignment, take away my marker and play my putt...?

Cheers

..if it's a matter of slow play, then it took me longer to type my question than it would for me to normally play my shot...🤙

Watch Jim Furyk, slowest pre-putting routine I ha e ever seen.

Adjusting it may be a touch of indecision.

Doubt you can tweak it enough to make a difference.

Best to pick a spot, line it up, commit.

You can do what you like with the ball until you pick up your marker.
But be warned we had a young lad who did this on every put and nobody would play with him because he was so slow.
Its no fun standing in the rain watching someone do this on every putt
