Women’s golf is just a minority sport.
The vast majority of clubs are trying to get women to join , mine has dropped the joining fee and offer lower fees to women beginners.
The brutal truth is most golfers (men) would not pay to watch women play.
The standard is nowhere near the men’s.
The football analogy is not valid, as schools teach football now and FA are trying to raise profile.

When people won’t go and watch there’s a problem.
Fixing that problem won’t be easy no matter who’s in charge.
Sponsors are not stupid they only put money in if they get a return!
Golf as a whole is a minority sport not just Ladies golf

The LET has suffered due to the lack of sponsors - it’s also low on quality compared to the LPGA and the Ladies Asian Tour and because of the obvious issues with the Middle East who sponsor a lot of tournaments the Ladies are just relying on Europe plus grabbing onto the Majors - the amount of events gets smaller each year.

The LET has got itself in a hole because players who used to play on it was that it was declining and went off to qualify for the LPGA
Holly Clyburn, Georgia, Stef Meadows, Mel Reid and a whole host of others.
Some have quit or got jobs in an alternative sector of the industry.
Raising the profile will be hard without names to help raise it and the new influx of Pros don't have the presence.
It's not going to be a quick job getting the LET back on its feet.

It's a double edged sword. The LET is dying on its feet due to lack of prize money and sponsorship and can't invest in tournaments and sufficient prize funds to raise interest. Of course quality will be low as up and coming players are opting to go down the US college route rather than learning their trade coming through the tour. As that continues, the standard of the LET drops further, sponsors aren't interested and the tour constricts further until it cannot afford to exist

I thought golf was the second biggest participation sport apart from fishing?

Or has this changed?

Two LET wins so she could clearly cut it. Perhaps its a simple as she's seen the state of the tour an simply doesn't have the inclination to put the work in to practice for very limited competitions on a stop/start basis and for paltry prize money and has started to use her looks and social media to make money. Everyone has to earn a crust one way or antoher

Utter tripe.

LET golf is of a very good standard, however nothing is done to promote this or the ladies game at any level in the UK and Europe. Someone needs to take a grip of the tour at top level and break down the areas where they can make inroads towards increasing exposure and revenue streams. One way could be to hold events where there are more than 1 course at regular ET events for example say the PGA at Wentworth huge flagship event everything is set up so whilst the men play the West course what's to stop a side by side event on the East course. Yes most would gravitate to the men's main event but plenty would through intrigue go see the ladies play to, could put a few cameras uo and have a highlight reel on terrestrial TV.

From a marketing point of view get the ladies involved in the advertising of the tour concurrently with the men's tour, offer out free tickets to juniors at local clubs that are nearby events, yes that means no revenue but it would start to raise awareness, get them to hold clinics at local clubs and invite local business along for pro Am days etc. There's a vast untapped amount they could do but just don't bother...

As for Carly Booth the girl does have game and 2 wins prove she can cut it, but perhaps realised she earnt more being a face for golf instead. I do know she went to US Q school and failed so has said she is committed to work harder on LET this season, that's just going on what she said on the Cut podcast
