Lessons not needed

Hats off to Bubba, and proof yet again that there is no "correct" way to swing a golf club.It may not impress the purists, but its certainly effective.
The shot he played from the trees on the last playoff hole was all about vision and feel, and nothing to do with sound fundamentals.

Could be the most stupid comment of 2012!

Having read some of your thoughts on the golf swing,i'd say you have that prize cornered. ;)

As rules are that there can't be the same winner 2 years in a row, I think the prize goes back to you!:rofl:

JO's probably got so many of us on ignore, he misses most of the candidates too! :mmm::rolleyes:

You only get feel if you have sound fundamentals

Maybe i should have been more specific,as i meant the fundamentals of a "classic" golf swing. When you consider that Bubba does everything wrong (according to the experts),he has an amazing ability to influence/manipulate the golf ball.
A lot of teaching Pro's would pull Bubba's swing apart if they didn't know who he was or what he'd achieved, just as they would with Furyk,Darcy etc.

There has to be an element of the fundamentals to make it at that level. Just because he moves it silly distances left and right on most shots doesn't mean he is ignoring the basics of grip, posture and alignment

Your absolutely right Homer,he obviously does lots of things correctly, but the fundamentals of his swing are not the same as the so called classic golf swing. His grip is very very strong, his stance very narrow etc etc.
I don't believe there is right way or a wrong way to swing a golf club, and as many have pointed out,its all about what the club is doing at impact and not whats happened before or after.

agreed, its clearly a swing that when working can beat anyone, although theres always a really bad one lurking around, but it gets him a silly amount of distance and a major so i dont think he'll be too fussed about it atm! Theres swings such as francesco molinari's which is regarded as technically almost perfect, but it hasnt won him a major, which clearly goes to show there is no right or wrong way to swing a golf club

It seems odd to me that you would knock 'my take on the golf swing' if that's the case

Can't say I've ever criticised Bubba's swing as it's CRYSTAL CLEAR that he understands the fundamentals, not quite the same with some other players though... even if they DO have a more classic swing.

Nothing more than forum banter mate. ;)
As i've said many times, the classic golf swing isn't the only way to get the desired result. Some promote the classic golf swing as being more reliable under pressure ? If thats the case then Louis (possibly one of the most technically perfect swings in golf) should have won the playoff.
